2004-09-21 [ilanyus]: not really complete :) have to describe diphthongs pronunciation :) will do asap
2004-09-21 [ilanyus]: offcourse I would always like to have some feedback on these lessons :) (although I want to be a teacher in real life as well I don't have the skills yet... :) ) (btw, I'm not going to be a languages teacher in real life :P but physics and chemistry)
2004-09-21 [LonelyTylenol]: YAY! THe page is up! Now I'll have to start reading it.
2004-09-21 [LonelyTylenol]: Number 30 isn't a Y. It's another kind of S. I've done my share of writing in Sindarin, but using the English tongue for it. the S you have as a Y is called silme nuquerna (meaning silme (The original S) reversed).
2004-09-21 [LonelyTylenol]: Number 7 is also used for J, though, there probably aren't any sindarin words with a J. Sorry. Like I said, I've studied the tengwar and tehtar a bit. I like to write notes to friends with them. I'm just lacking the training in the tongues and a few other things too...
2004-09-21 [LonelyTylenol]: I figured it out. I think number 23 is the Y. Sorry. I'm sure you know this better than me. I just have a book right next to me that I learned from (But have been told is a kind of... incomplete source) titled "The Languages of Tolkien's Middle Earth" and that's where I've learned everything I know...
2004-09-21 [LonelyTylenol]: And according to my book, number 35 is also a Y. Sorry. I'm REALLY going to stop now.
2004-09-22 [ilanyus]: heheh, ok I'll start looking over it... can be that I made some stupid faults :P wrote it to quick probably :P but you're right as far as I can see (I am sorry, writing elvish is something I am not really good in)
2004-09-22 [ilanyus]: I kinda figured out what the real problem is... I used the wrong kind of tengwar mode ... this is beleriand mode... I wanted to mention this and add the normal mode (as you probably noticed the vowels are separate letters in beleriand mode)
2004-09-22 [ilanyus]: there this one is better :P will look into beleriand mode asap
2004-09-22 [ilanyus]: haha come to think of it... learning how to pronunce sindarin would be easier just to watch LotR? heheh
2004-09-23 [LonelyTylenol]: Question: is the punctuation different in Quenya and Sindarin? Second question... Only, I don't remember what it is.
